They Are Pop-Ups!! They Are Neighbors!! They Are Out To Get Us!! AHH!!
OK, so I just made my whole first post and it took me about an hour. When I go to press the spell check button, some random pop up flys on screen, and next thing I know, my work has been erased. Oh, I'm too mad to redo the whole thing, so here is a shorter version:
Basically, for the very first post, I'll give a very vague overveiw of my taste in music. Here are some of my very favorite songs of all time:
Midlake - Balloon Maker
My friend Seth introduced me to the Denton-based band Midlake in the summer of 2003 because his cousin is an actuall member in the band. That whole summer, I listened to their album "Bamnan and Slivercork" over and over. They have this really cool lo-fi electronic sound, alot of fuzz. Very distinct vocals, too. Great lyrics.
Iron & Wine - Jesus The Mexican Boy
I love Sam Beam. His beard, his finger picking, his voice. Its all so great.
Jeff Mangum - Oh, Sister
Ok, this is the part I'm most angry about. I had this whole paragraph about how the lyrics in this song are similar to different songs on "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" and how I worship Jeff Mangum and where I got this bootleg and everything. I'm way too sad to go back and do that whole thing right now. But this is a great song. AHHHHHH, I'm so mad that whole thing was deleted, it was so good!
Nick Drake - Place to Be
The title of this blog comes from this song. My friend John got me into Nick Drake, and I'll never be able to thank him. I make John mix cd's about once a week called "Let's All Try Being Quiet For Once". I'll put those up on the site as they come along.
Belle & Sebastian - Seeing Other People
I remeber when I first heard "If You're Feeling Sinister". It was the summer of my 13th year. It changed my life. My favorite band changed about everyday between B&S and NMH. I remeber for a while, seriously like over a month, this was the only song I listened to.
Sufjan Stevens - Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing
I go to a Baptist high school, so I have grown up around Hymns. I think this is my favorite Hymn of all time, and by one of my favorite artists.
I'm very sorry this post wasn't too detailed. It was at first. But not anymore. So so so so so mad. This isn't what my site is gonna look like. I'm not done with the actuall construction yet. Its coming along. I know it looks a little bare bones right now, but dont worry. I just wanted to practice the whole uploading thing, just to see how it all works. Leave a comment to assure my return.
