No One Knew Where We Were

My very good friend Seth, yes the one who is related to a member of Midlake, talked with his cousin Eric Pulido from the band, and he had some pretty exciting news. The new album Van Occupanther is projected to come out around this April, and a reissue of their first EP
Milkmaid Grand Army (only 1000 copies were made of first release) is being considered. He said that the only things they listened to during the recording sessions were the likes of Jethro Tull and Pedro and The Lion, and both of those bands are major influences on the sound. In a few weeks the band will be heading out to San Francisco to film all the album's videos that they show at their live shows. Speaking of live shows, the band's gonna be teaming up with The Flaming Lips at SXSW this year, and that show will be a possible precursor to more shows with the Lips, and maybe even a tour? The Roscoe release thats been floating around the blogs lately was actually a leak, that wasn't meant to get out, but the band has been really excited with the feedback. So some pretty exciting Midlake news, I think this album will be really good for the band's popularity, and the Lips will help too. Very exciting stuff, thank you Seth, I love you.
